Ricardo writes: "How wonderful for the faithful in Indiana to have such an understanding and proactive Bishop and pastors!"
Must a bishop have the proper "understanding" for granting the TLM. I thought that the pope had, in fact, ordered them to.
Ricardo: Here in LA we are still in the liberal grip of Cardinal Mahoney and his appointed pastors who keep the TLM on the back burner as completely as they can.
So what is worse- the "schismatic" Society of Pius X or the outright disobedience to the Holy See by a number of bishops such as Mahoney?
Abp. was "excommunicated" for alleged disobedience. Why aren't many of these American bishops not excommunicated for the same offense? Fair is fair, isn't it?

Its wonderful and it looks like most U.S.Bishop's and Bishops around the world will follow suit the good example set by this good Bishop.
More centres/Parishes are arranging Tradentine Masses for their parishners is the most consoling and encouraging thing.
Those Catholic who deserted after the NOVUS ORDO
Liturgy was brought in.
The days are not far off that 100% of Catholics / parishes in the country will find this Dinvine Liturgy strengthening their faith.

Geri,

That workshop is being sponsored by St. Boniface Parish (at which it will be held on the 11th and 12th). However, the conference is by Fr. Samuel Weber, who has pioneered a method of singing the chants in English.

In any case, congratulations to your entire diocese!

How wonderful for the faithful in Indiana to have such an understanding and proactive Bishop and pastors! Here in LA we are still in the liberal grip of Cardinal Mahoney and his appointed pastors who keep the TLM on the back burner as completely as they can. I have been a member of my current parish for 18 years but when I leave a voicemail message for my pastor to discuss having a TLM he doesn't even return my calls. When I recently talked to the parish secretary about my request she said "Oh, you're one of those traditional Catholics!". And she further informed me that our parish will never have a TLM because I "was only the second person who had expressed an interest in doing that". Also she said that there was a TLM being offered at a parish in San Pedro (about 10 miles away from my parish) but that it probably wouldn't last because there wasn't much interest in it!
Please pray for us here in Southern California. Thank you and God Bless You All.
